LAMAR LATRELLE as portrayed by Larry B. Scott in the Revenge of the Nerds franchise (1984-1994). . . Some will say this is where it all starts. I'm starting here because it premiered the year of my birth. To be honest, I don't remember him in too, too much detail. These movies were always on in reruns, and my older brother liked them, so I watched them passively. Lamar was absolutely gay and effeminate, as is with many of the guys here. But he also lived in that all white world in the frat. I can only imagine what that must've been like for him if he were a real person. As is the case with many of the characters on this list, Lamar was brought to life by a straight actor. Apparently, Larry B. Scott took a lot of flak for portraying a gay character since at the time there weren't many Black men in major films like this. I guess some people didn't understand that Black gay men are Black men too? Anywho, did yall watch these movies? #blackgayandonscreen
